Spence Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Reserve 2006

The 2006 Howell Mountain Reserve is 100% estate grown Cabernet. We harvested on October 18th, 2006 and bottled in August of 2008. It has been aged in French oak barrels from 3 different coopers adding a beautiful complexity to the wine.

The first impression of this wine is tones of red currant, cherry cordial, dried roses, chocolate, and spice. On the palate it follows through with red and black raspberry, currant, smoky oak, and pencil shavings (a dusty earthy flavor). It is elegantly balanced with fine integrated tannins creating a savory texture that has a lingering finish of black fruit and allspice.
