Mantra Old Vines Zinfandel Reserve - Alexander Valley 2007

The fruit is hand sorted before it is de-stemmed and then placed in the fermenter as whole berries. A long cold soak at 50 degrees and followed by a slow fermentation that was allowed to progress with its natural yeast at a slow and steady rate and then halfway through the fermentation it was inoculated with a vigorous yeast to finish the job. This a gorgeous wine showing characteristics of raspberry, blackberry, rose petal, caramel and spice.
