Kelleher Family Vineyard

Kelleher Family Vineyard is situated along Highway 29 in the famous Oakville Appellation in the heart of Napa Valley. The 10-acre vineyard is planted exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

They’ve named this beautiful piece of land “Brix Vineyard”, after their namesake restaurant “Brix”. For many years, guests would come into the restaurant, Brix, and ask if they offered a wine from grapes grown on the property. The answer was complicated. They had for some time grown and sold Kelleher grapes to some of the Valley’s most prized labels. But the more often they were asked the question, the more the idea took hold. In 2004, Kelleher decided it was time to create a wine unique to Brix Vineyard.  This led the Kelleher family to begin producing their own estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker, Craig Becker, has been with Kelleher Wines since harvest of 2003.  In that time, he has worked closely with Daniel Roberts, as well as Gallegos Farming to make some significant adjustments to the 10-acre vineyard. Craig is a graduate of the University of California, Davis where he majored in Soil Science and Plant Physiology.  He discovered the beauty of wine while at UCD and then decided to continue his education while working at Robert Mondavi Winery in Oakville.  Craig’s next move was up to Spring Mountain Vineyard in 1998 where he was fully exposed to the integration of vineyard management practices and winemaking.  Two mentors, David Ramey and Daniel Roberts, guided Craig in his journey toward becoming the successful winemaker he is today.
