Description
1978 Domaine Clair-Dau Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru. Cote de Nuits, France.
Domaine Clair-Dau was a historic Marsannay estate founded in 1919 when Joseph Clair returned from WWI and married Marguerite Dau. When Joseph died in 1971, the domaine was divided among his children and a significant part of it eventually was sold or leased to Louis Jadot in 1985. The few remaining bottles of the domain benefit now from a true cult among lovers of great Burgundy wines. Located in the Cote de Nuits, Clos de Bèze is the oldest of the Burgundy clos, dating back to the 7th century.
