Domaine Ramonet Montrachet, Cote de Beaune, France 1997BH 92 | BURGHOUNDGiven the usual Ramonet aromatic purity, I was surprised to find prominent oak notes, certainly more noticeable than the last bottle I tried, mixed with elegant, pretty, slightly austere fruit. The medium weight, beautifully intense flavors are wonderfully fine and classy though they are not especially dense and compensate by delivering an extremely fine, precise and long back end. In sum, this is a very fine but not classic Montrachet from perhaps its greatest single producer. |
