Description
Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin En Motrot, Cote De Nuits, France 2002PR (89-90) | WINE ADVOCATEThe dark ruby-colored 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin En Motrot was harvested at 13.5% natural potential alcohol. Its spicy, blackberry-dominated nose leads to a medium-bodied character with outstanding balance, breadth, and depth of fruit. Loads of licorice-laced black cherries and flowers can be discerned in this velvety wine. |
BH (87-90) | BURGHOUNDThis quite closely resembles the villages but there is slightly better underlying material and better overall harmony. The tannins in particular are finer and though the mid-palate is sweet, rich, supple and round, there is racy finishing acidity which adds lift and freshness to the finish. (in barrel) |
ST 88+ | VINOUSFull red-ruby. Black fruits, smoked meat and oak on the nose. Silky but tightly wound, with notes of black raspberry, licorice, game and torrefaction. Boasts good volume but finishes a bit clenched, with less early length than the “regular” Gevrey-Chambertin. |
