Description
Bouchard Pere & Fils Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France 2004 (375 ml)BH 93 | BURGHOUNDThere is a mild touch of reduction lurking in the background of the largely mature aromas of baked apple, poached pear, spice and a touch of citrus. The hallmark minerality of a fine Chevalier is very much evident on the still attractively vibrant middle weight flavors that retain very good delineation before culminating in an impressively long and solidly complex finale. For my taste this has arrived at its peak even in magnum format and while there is no rush to drink up, neither is there any benefit to holding it. |
ST 93+ | VINOUSDeep, bright aromas of pear, spring flowers and liquid stone. Penetrating and pure, with pear, citrus and stony flavors nicely framed by firm acidity. Still tight in the middle, but already conveys the precision of the vintage at its best. A real mouthful of wet stones on the very long finish. |
WS 92 | WINE SPECTATORFinesse and subtlety are the hallmarks of this sleek white. The floral, lemon, hazelnut and mineral flavors build in intensity, and the finish picks up a toasty, vanilla component. Drink now through 2015. 56 cases imported. |
