DuMOL 'Finn' Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, USA 2011AG 93 | WINE ADVOCATEThe 2009 Pinot Noir Finn wraps around the palate with waves of dark red fruit. This is another plush, deep wine endowed with tremendous depth and sheer textural richness. Dark black cherries, flowers, spices and mint are layered in this effortless, totally gracious Pinot. The dark, sensual style is very inviting. The Finn is made from the best block in the Estate vineyard and another plot in Occidental Road. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. |
ST 92 | VINOUSGood full red. Reticent but pure nose hints at black cherry. Sappy and tight, showing little in the way of easy sweetness but communicating an impression of strong extract. With aeration, red and darker fruit flavors emerged and the wine softened to show a more velvety texture. This pinot has a relatively high pH for the vintage (3.6) and will rely more on its tannins than on its acidity for spine. |
