BURGHOUND
Here the expressive nose is even fresher and cooler with elegant and airy aromas of red pinot fruit that is generously cut with wet stone, floral and discreet spice nuances. There is a beguiling sense of vibrancy to the intensely mineral-driven flavors that flash excellent delineation on the focused, pure and impeccably well-balanced finish. This is built on its minerality and while moderately firm, should still be approachable young if desired.

WINE ADVOCATE
(from a yield of just 15 hectoliters per hectare, the lowest for the domain in 2015): Bright medium red. Liqueur-like black cherry, violet and licorice on the rather tight nose. Not as fruity in the mouth as the two village wines from Volnay but displays lovely savory energy and a suave texture. Incidentally, this bottling was previously labeled, simply, Beaune Les Aigrots.

WINE ADVOCATE
The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru les Aigrots is matured in 20% new oak and Frédéric Lafarge told me that it was reduced to just 15 hectoliters per hectare in this vintage due to the "trauma" in 2014. It has an attractive nose, quite floral with rose petals infusing the red cherry and strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, clean and pure, stiffening up a little towards the finish that has good depth, yet will need 3-4 years in bottle to fully soften.
