2005 Domaine Prieure Roch Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France
Based in Prémeaux, Domaine Prieuré Roch has a total of 14 hectares of vines of which approximately 12 are in the Côte de Nuits, mainly in the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. The owner of Domaine Prieuré Roch, Henry-Frédéric Roch, is a man of vision and passion. He is also the co-gérant - with Aubert de Villaine - of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti since 1992. In 1988 he started his own domaine, Domaine Prieuré Roch, applying the same meticulous care in the vineyard and in the wine cellar that applies to Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Sadly, Roch passed away in late 2018.
The harvest report states that 2005 was an almost perfect year: lots of sun, no diseases, very healthy grapes. It was an easy and generous harvest. These wines will be very difficult to drink in their youth due to being very tannic. These are wines of patience that will become great in time.
