Description
Domaine Faiveley Corton 'Clos des Cortons Faiveley' Monopole Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France 2001 (375ml)BH 93 | BURGHOUNDBrilliant ruby. A beautifully fresh nose displays lovely layered with only a hint of secondary character to the pretty and quite spicy aromas that derive mostly from the red side of the fruit spectrum. The sleek, delicious and attractively vibrant middle weight flavors possess a taut muscularity and evident minerality on the still overtly robust, serious and tannic finish. Unlike many '01s today that are at or near their peaks, this admirably complex effort remains fairly youthful with a moderate amount of structure still to resolve. |
ST 93 | VINOUSGood full medium red with just a trace of amber. Alluring, vibrant aromas and flavors of red and darker berries and salty minerals. A silky, savory, very pure midweight with subtle intensity and harmonious framing acidity providing excellent definition and a delightful light touch. This beautifully balanced, minerally wine finishes with lovely rising length and nicely resolved yet still-firm tannins. If the 2002 was disappointing, this one is a clear success in the context of its vintage |
